In the existing complex of the departure station of the S.Caterina di Valfurva cable car, on the ground floor plan, directly in contact with the main road, there is access to the Zero rh+ terrace Lounge Bar. The bar is divided into three parts, the terrace, the lounge room and the back kitchen, where the technical areas, the staff rooms and the services are located. The bar lounge room has a double view, bringing the clients from the main road to the terrace projected towards the ski slope, directly above the funiculars of the cable car. The space has a curved wooden beamed roof, reminiscent of the hull of a ship. As far as the finishes are concerned, a twofold approach has been applied; on the one hand, industrial materials able to withstand the passage of boots and mountain equipment have been used for the floors and the bar counter, with the choice of exposed and polished concrete. On the other hand, the atmosphere was enhanced by the creation of a wall along the whole room in black-dyed plywood made to house everything that is part of the bar’s equipment and bottles. The color palette was selected in relation to the external nature together with the ceiling beams left in sight, able to give a more intimate and warm character to the room, especially given its size. Once on the terrace, the customer is guaranteed a breathtaking view of the mountain and in particular of the Compagnoni slope’s finish line.
